Austin’s New Year 2019

New Year celebration party hat and noisemakerWhen it comes to a hoppin’ good time in a family-friendly atmosphere, Austin’s New Year 2019 is a great place to be. This alcohol-free event has a lot of kid’s activities, many food truck options, and great music for adults as well if you want to take turns watching the kids and catching a band. Even better, it is FREE to enter. This event runs from 3-10 p.m. It is presented by the Austin Convention Center and will be held at Auditorium Shores with fireworks over the water closing the night.

Noon Year’s Eve Balloon Drop & Bubble Wrap Stomp

On December 31, 2018 there will be two New Year’s Eve activities designed specifically for the smaller crowd at the Thinkery. Parents can choose one of two events (one from 9 am. to noon, and the other from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., each of which includes a balloon drop and bubble stomps. Crafts, music, noisemakers, a “Texas snowball” arena and a celebratory mimosa or kid-mosa will also make the day festive. This event costs $18 per person for members and $20 for non-members. RSVP is required.

New Year’s Eve Family Barrel Bash

The annual Barrel Bash at the Alamo Draft House Cinema Barrel O’Fun will run from 1-4 p.m., and include plenty of family-friendly fun. Ticket price includes music, dancing, crafts, karaoke, party props, a photo booth and apple juice for a group toast. Other food and drink will be available to purchase. We aren’t sure how much tickets cost, but once you have a ticket you will be able to come and go as needed.
