Here in Texas, we love Saint Patrick\u2019s Day. If you’re wondering where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year, you’ve come to the right place. We narrowed down the main events to hit up in Austin this year on the annual celebration of Saint Patrick converting those troublesome pagans. Just remember to wear green, or you might get pinched.

Where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day: Three ideas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

St. Patrick\u2019s Day Austin<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Locale:<\/strong> Pioneer Farms<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When?:<\/strong> Sunday, March 17th<\/sup> (St. P\u2019s Day) from 12 pm to 6 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosted by the Celtic Cultural Center of Texas, the Austin Celtic Association, and the Cultural Arts Division for the City of Austin, the St. Patrick\u2019s Day Austin festival at Pioneer Farms is the dominant St. Patrick\u2019s event in the city. It\u2019s so dominant that it doesn\u2019t really have a specified name other than \u201cSt. Patrick\u2019s Day Austin.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This family-friendly event strongly emphasizes that it\u2019s all about \u201cauthentic Irish culture.\u201d There will be no green beer in sight, just plenty of “the finest Irish imports in the color the Irish gods intended.\u201d Instead of leprechauns, you\u2019ll get to experience the real traditions of the Old Country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entertainment will consist of two covered stages boasting international and local stars of Celtic music. The show will go on no matter the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food will come in the form of a special St. Patty\u2019s Day menu. There will be the classic corned beef and cabbage, plus other options including fish n\u2019 chips and Irish pastries. Beers on tap include Guinness, Harp, and Smithwick’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other events range from a free intro to Irish language workshop and horse n’ carriage rides, to a video game theater (in a climate-controlled gaming utopia) and a bumper soccer arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advance online tickets are $12 for adults, and $5 for kids<\/strong> under thirteen.<\/strong> If you\u2019re under two, it\u2019s free<\/strong>. Print out your PayPal receipt\/confirmation email after your purchase and use it as your ticket for entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jack & Ginger\u2019s St. Patrick\u2019s Day Celebration<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When?:<\/strong> Sunday, March 17th<\/sup>. Doors open at 10 a.m. Live entertainment begins at 12 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If heavy authenticity isn\u2019t your thing and you\u2019d rather go for an American-style St. Pats, stop by Jack & Ginger\u2019s Irish pub. There will be green beer, Irish and American Comfort foods, and their special take on traditional shepherds pie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting at noon, live entertainment will take place on two outdoor stages. It will feature a variety of Irish-style music, including bagpipes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cover charge is $10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m<\/strong>., and $20 for the rest of the day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
