When drivers think “Chevy” and “major capability” their minds probably jump first to the classic Chevy Silverado truck. While we do have several attractive trucks<\/a><\/span> like the Silverado in our inventory, two other Chevy models currently in our inventory that can deliver serious towing, hauling, and transportation options are the Chevy Suburban and Chevy Tahoe. Both of these SUVs can offer enough seating for a growing family, or can deliver towing and hauling options. But what’s the difference between the Chevy Suburban and the Chevy Tahoe?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chevy Suburban vs Chevy Tahoe<\/h3>\n

Both the Chevy Suburban and the Chevy Tahoe are considered large SUVs and have either a seven-passenger or eight-passenger seating capacity. For the 2016 model\u00a0 year both also come standard with a 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V-8 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. However, the Chevy Suburban is slightly larger (and more expensive). The starting MSRP for the 2016 Chevy Suburban was more than $2,500 higher than the starting MSRP of the 2017 Chevy Tahoe. That size difference has some advantages and disadvantages for each of these models<\/p>\n

Interior Cargo Space<\/h3>\n

The 2016 Chevy Suburban offers an impressive 121.7 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded , while the 2017 Chevy Tahoe has just 94.7 cubic feet. That means more room for people or passengers in the Suburban. However, there is a towing trade-off.<\/p><\/div>\n

Towing Capacity<\/h3>\n

While the Suburban has the advantage on interior space, the 2016 Chevy Tahoe takes the lead in towing capability. Possibly because it has the same engine and less body weight, the 2016 Chevy Tahoe can tow up to 6,600 pounds, while the 2016 Suburban tops out at 6,300 pounds.<\/p><\/div>\n
