We\u2019ve all been there: someone flashes their lights at you, or honks, and afterward you can\u2019t tell if they are jerks, or trying to let you know that something is wrong with your vehicle. There are some things that a driver can’t notice easily, but that can get you pulled over and<\/em> get you a ticket. What vehicle problems are illegal to drive with in Texas? Broken Headlights or Taillights<\/h3>\n

It is illegal to drive with a broke headlight or taillight and you could be stopped and fined.<\/p>\n

\"sideBroken Turn Signal<\/h3>\n

Our first thought was: How would anyone know that the turn signal was broken and not, you know, just not being used? Turns out that you can also be pulled over for not using your turn signals. SO, that\u2019s good to know.<\/p>\n

Cracked Windshield<\/h3>\n

Cracked window glass that obscures your view can be cause to be pulled over, but tiny cracks are not an issue. You can even drive without a windshield if you want! (Though we don\u2019t recommend that.)<\/p>\n

Missing Side Mirror<\/h3>\n

You need to be able to see at least 200 behind you with the exterior side mirrors or the interior mirror. If both your side mirrors and your interior mirror are broken\u2026well, we don\u2019t want to be driving behind you. You could be stopped by a police officer for missing your side mirrors, but as long as the other two are working then you will probably be warned not fined.<\/p>\n

Unreadable License Plate<\/h3>\n

You need front and rear license plates in Texas, and they need to be visible, including at night. You can be pulled over for having a dim or missing license plate light, so be sure to check that periodically. Also, you cannot have your license plate in your window.<\/p>\n

Loud Exhaust System<\/h3>\n

You can get pulled over for an exhaust system<\/a> that is \u201cexcessive and unusual\u201dly loud, so don\u2019t just ignore that rumble that might mean your muffler is on its last legs (or on the highway\u2026you never know).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
