Do you have your costume yet?<\/a> While there is still time figure out how you and\/or your family are going to dress for the day, it\u2019s good to start planning ahead now. Where do you want to go? How can you stay visible when you go out? In this blog we are exploring some Austin TX trick-or-treat times 2018, some of the best places to go, and what to be aware of this Halloween.<\/p>\n

Austin TX Trick-or-Treat Times 2018<\/h2>\n

We haven\u2019t been able to find a solid time for trick-or-treating this year, but we believe that it will happen on Halloween proper (Wednesday, October 31) from 6-8 p.m. Generally 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. is the nationally recommended times for trick-or-treating for kids, but any time that Halloween falls on a school (and work) night calling it quits a little earlier is a good idea.<\/p>\n

When does it get dark on Halloween 2018?<\/h3>\n

In Austin TX, the sun will set at 6:44 p.m. on Halloween this year. It\u2019s smart to plan for a costume that is visible (maybe with glow sticks or something that lights up?) if you are planning to stay out later. While it doesn\u2019t get dark as soon as the sun goes down, it will happen pretty quickly.<\/p>\n

What are the best places to get candy?<\/h3>\n

When you are going out with your children, it\u2019s a good idea to watch for welcoming houses with their porch lights on, and to check all candy and treats for suspicious things (like no wrappers, or weird shapes) before letting your kids get a sugar rush with them. Ideally, you will live in a neighborhood that is fun to wander around in, and you will get a chance to interact with your neighbors. That said, we have heard that some of the top neighborhoods for a good candy haul and a fun night include: Steiner Ranch, Travis Heights, Highland Lakes, Canyonwood, Clarksville, Rosedale, Allandale, Crestview, Western Oaks, Circle C, Avery Ranch, and Bouldin.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
