Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared a stay-at-home order that takes effect on April 2nd. This order requires individuals to stay at home, except for essential trips. Social distancing requirements have been expanded, and activities are limited to essential services.
Though the governor has been reluctant to speak the command, “stay home,” the order issued by the Texas state government is effectively the same as the shelter-in-place/stay-at-home orders issued by other states, with a few small differences.

While people are strongly encouraged to stay home as much as possible, they may leave for groceries or other essential activities. They may also leave for exercise.
