What are the best Easter 2019 events in Austin TX?

Easter Events 2019 in Austin TX

“Is it Easter yet?” You may find yourself wondering this question throughout the coming month. Occuring all the way out on April 21st, we’ve got a late Easter this year. The good news is, that gives us all the more time to prepare and find the best events to hit up.

As always, there’s a lot going on in Austin and its surroundings for Easter. We’ve got Easter breakfasts, Easter brunches, Easter parades, and Easter egg hunts. For this list, we’ve stuck mostly to the egg hunts. Read on, and pretty soon you’ll be hopping around the room with excitement.

Note: a lot of the event times are not confirmed yet for 2019. So if you see something you like, contact the event hosts to confirm the date and hours. We’ve put the tentative dates which have been conceived based on complex calculations integrating event times from previous years.

Harker Heights UMC Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt

  • 208 West Cardinal Lane, Harker Heights
  • Sunday April 14, 3 pm to 5 pm

Boasting free admission, the Harker Heights UMC Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt is a great event for the kids. Along with egg hunts optimized for ages from 18-months to ten years old, events include crafts, music, storytelling, and photos with the Easter Bunny himself. There is also promised to be a bounce house, or at least something inflatable.

All food and events are free, but you can bring non-perishable foods to donate to the food bank. This festival is on the corner of Harley and Cardinal. In the event of bad weather, it will be postponed. Also- bring your own basket for collecting the eggs!

Eikon Church Easter Egg Drop Extravaganza

  • San Marcos High School, 2601 E McCarty Ln, San Marcos
  • Saturday, April 13, from 11 am to 1 pm

The biggest Easter Egg hunt you’ve likely ever seen will be taking place again for 2019 at San Marcos High School. Seventy-five thousand eggs will be dropped from a helicopter in a designated zone in this Best of Hays County Voted Community Event. This one is entertaining for the whole family, and it’s also free.

There will be multiple helicopter drops in different areas augmented to varying age groups and dispositions, such as the sensory impaired. The first drop will be taking place at 11:30.

Other fun activities include inflatables, face painting, photo booths, and a live DJ. The Easter Bunny will be around as well.

Free Egg Hunts around the city of Austin

There are various free egg hunts taking place in city parks throughout Austin, so we recommend looking into those.

Teens:  Though many of these events are oriented towards kids, teenagers can hit up the Teen Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, April 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This exciting hunt will be taking place at the Dottie Jordan Recreation Center. Gift card prizes will be awarded.
